Tower of Gold:
It was built between 1220 and 1221 by the Moroccan dynasty Almohad . it was formerly attached to the walls of the city and connected to a similar tower called Torre de Plata. The Torre del Oro received this name because it was covered with a mixture of mortar, lime and pressed straw that shined under the sunlight with a golden hue. Hence its name
Gold Tower has had many uses throughout its history. Originally it was used for surveillance, after the Christian conquest it served as chapel and later became a prison. Now in its interior we can find the Naval Museum of Seville.
